Scenes From Our Neigborhood 1

So what do you think of the new look of the blog? The pictures did not show well with the previous format so I am trying this one. Let me know which format is better to follow.

While I am working on the entries for our recent Spain expedition, I wanted you to see some pictures from our daily life and surroundings.

Make a note of the brightness of the days in spite of the currency of these images - with few exceptions, all were taken within the last two weeks!

By the way, the pictures are posted small but if you click on them, you can view the enlarged images.

Enjoy....

Restaurant Hollywood! at the Plaza Major

Here is the Mr. Rooster and his living quarters below! I finally located his house; he and his gang of friends (ducks, chickens, cats, dogs and birds) live in the neighborhood right across from us.

Some neighborhood villas across the road along our bike/walk path (also next to Mr. Rooster's House!)

Swimming pool with dolphin design along the path again.

You thought Yunus was only having fun here?

Couple of Yunus's friends came for sleep over! You think he is a bit bored?

Everyday, I smell sweet fragrance of acacia, covering our ground floor neighbors' fences, as I walk by. It is almost December and they are still in full bloom and ubiquitous around here.
O, it is so heavenly!

Cyclamen in the roundabout flower bed (straight ahead: Mercadona, China Bazaar, Ambulatory Care Hospital; to the right: beach and marina; to the left: train station, bike path and our apartment)

Orange Grove along the road

Lemon tree

Bananas along the road

Banana Flower

Pomegranate tree in front of the hospital across from Mercadona

A Kaki Persimmon Tree

Botanical specimens from the gardens

Bird (!!) in Yunus's window sill....

Horse trainer in the next door field

Party in our apartment complex with Paella cooking (note the outfits at the end of October!)

Window display of a fabric store
El Coche Citroen C3

This is how they double park and go! One lane is good enough for the traffic.

Water spouting Pinocchios at the Plaza Rei Jaume.

Rui Serpis with water! 2 weeks after the storm...

River Serpis now Nov 29!

and water runs clear...

A billboard ad by AEDYR (Asociacion Espanola de Desalacion y Reutilizacion) promoting water desalinization and reuse. The ad reads
"A cloud imagines what it gave you: water - whenever you were thirsty.
Water desalinization: the technology inspired by the nature."
The TV ad of this project (beautifully narrated by Spanish actress/singer Nawja Nimri accompanied by the theme music from the soundtrack of the film 'Donnie Darko', 'Liquid Spear Waltz') is posted on Youtube; I highly recommend you view it.
